LaGuardia Airport

LaGuardia Airport

LaGuardia is the closest airport to Manhattan. It is located just over 7 miles (10 km) east of the island, in the neighbouring Queens county.

LaGuardia Airport has four terminals and is used primarily for domestic flights.

How to Get to Manhattan from LaGuardia

Airport Transfer

This is the easiest and fastest option. If you decide to book an airport transfer, a driver will be waiting for you in the airport holding a sign with your name on it and will take you directly to your hotel, thus avoiding extra toll fees.

Another option is to take a taxi to the center. From LaGuardia airport to Manhattan is between $35 and $50 including toll fees and tips, depending which street you go to.

This is the cheapest recourse. For just $2 you will get to Manhattan in a little over half an hour. The bus number is M60, runs from 5 am to 1 am and stops in all LaGuardia’s terminals.

The final destination of the M60 is Columbia University, between Broadway and 116 Street. Here you will be able to take the Subway (lines 1, 2, 3, A, B and C).

Similarly to JFK Airport, it is possible to take a limo to the center. If you are a big group, it isn’t too expensive.

Other Ways

The shuttle service with a minibus per person is approximately $10-15. We recommend this option for those traveling by themselves or for those who do not want to take the Subway.

It is also possible to take a helicopter for around $600.
